BBC Radio Stoke 2020health responds to report on elderly & urgent care
2020health have responded to a report from the NHS Confederation about the elderly and urgent care.
The report, ‘Growing Old Together’ calls for more to be done to prevent older people from having to go to hospital. It puts an emphasis on more proactive and co-ordinated health and social care, making suggestions like the creation of the role of a care co-ordinator to guide service users through the system. Speaking on BBC Radio Stoke, Rosalia Wood, 2020health’s Communications Manager, welcomed the report and echoed its recommendations for the implementation of more integrated care. She also spoke about the need to tailor provision to the needs of individuals, and highlighted the potential of health technology in allowing elderly people to stay in their homes for longer.
