Julia Manning, CEO, 2020health appeared on ITV Daybreak to discuss the high cost of parking in hospitals, how the money is used to support NHS foundation trusts and whether this is a tax on being ill. Julia says that hospitals need to do a lot more to communicate with their patients about where the money for car parking charges is being used. If patients understood that some of the money was going to the upkeep of the car park and some towards supporting the hospital, patients and visitors wouldn’t feel so annoyed.
