Matt James
Assistant Director
Matt has worked with 20/20health since 2012 and has a particular interest in the intersection of health, values, technology and public policy. He relishes the opportunity to think about what it means to be human in light of technological change and innovation.
Matt studied political history and sociology as an undergraduate before completing a Master’s degree in bioethics and medical law. As an ‘edgewalker’, Matt enjoys the dynamics that interdisciplinary working can bring, building bridges between different paradigms, cultural boundaries and worldviews in order to cultivate fresh thinking and help frame key questions.
Matt has co-authored reports on various topics including reviewing post-transplant care for bone marrow transplant patients and reviewing the quality of care and models of best practice for those living with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Matt is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), honorary research associate at University College London (UCL) and a Fellow of the RSA.
